NAWBO Chicago Political Action Committee

The NAWBO Chicago PAC is a bipartisan organization that informs and educates NAWBO's membership and selects and endorses candidates for office in Illinois . Our goal is to promote good government by supporting local and state candidates with conviction of principle who will champion issues most important to women business owners.

The NAWBO Chicago PAC is funded by donations from NAWBO Chicago members and others in the women's business community. During the 2006 election cycle, the PAC endorsed and financially supported the following candidates. These candidates were chosen based on their responses to the PAC questionnaire and their positions on the issues most important to women business owners.

State Senator Debbie Halvorson (Democrat), Senate Majority Leader, 40th District

State Representative Elaine Nekritz (Democrat), 57th District

State Representative Ruth Munson (Republican), 43rd District

Deborah Shore, Democratic Candidate for the Board of Commissioners, Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago

State Representative Elizabeth Coulson (Republican), 17th District

Alexi Giannoulias, Democratic Candidate for Illinois State Treasurer

The NAWBO Chicago PAC will not endorse any candidate who does not complete a PAC questionnaire. Questionnaires are delivered to candidates upon either the request of a NAWBO member or of the candidate. They are not distributed in bulk to all candidates running for State or local office.
