Corporate Partner News
Our 2006-2007 Corporate Partner of the Year award recipients are listed below,
along with a very brief synopsis of their contribution to our Chapter.
Bell, Boyd & Lloyd, LLP (www.bellboyd.com) The women at Bell, Boyd & Lloyd have been very generous is providing conference rooms, speakerphones and committee support. Kara Cenar, one of our Past Presidents of NAWBO, has been instrumental in not only updating our whole Corporate Partner Benefits Program, but is a co-creator of the NAWBO Empowerment Team. Lastly, while Kara was busily working as our NAWBO President in 2005, she, and her firm, took on the task of organizing and archiving the full history of our Chicago NAWBO Chapter.
Guy Viti Insurance/ Viti Financial (www.guyviti.com) Just after two years of being a corporate partner, the women of Guy Viti are VERY active in leadership roles, as well as being hosts and sponsors of many NAWBO events. They have hosted Connecting Points in their area, where local businesses meet in a relaxed setting; they hosted a Town Meeting that gathers NAWBO members together to get updated on NAWBO information; Anna Maria is a Co-Chair of the Corporate Partner Retention Committee, and Cindy Mahoney is involved with the North Shore Leads Group. They also won an award for the Corporate Women of Achievement last year!!
National City Bank (www.nationalcity.com)
National City Bank has been actively involved with NAWBO for quite a few years. Karen Shabel, National City’s Assistant Vice President is currently Chair of the Member to Member Relations Committee and is on the NAWBO Board. In the past year National City has sponsored both the golf outing and the affiliates reception. National City also has made its facilities available for NAWBO-related events. It still continues to host Connecting Points. National City continues to encourage all of its employees to not only attend NAWBO events but to actively sponsor and participate in NAWBO.
O'Malley & Associates (www.omalleyassoc.com) Although O’Malley and Associates have only been around for a few years, their presence with NAWBO is huge! Kate Sullivan and Patti Ernst have made a huge impact with leadership over these recent times! Kate is on the Board of NAWBO in the position of Membership Director. Patti is now the Chair of the Affiliates Committee, making improvements all the time! Their company has sponsored numerous events, including the Golf Outing and last year’s Achievement Luncheon. They have also hosted Town Hall Meetings and New Member Receptions.
Welsh & Katz, Ltd. (www.welshkatz.com) For a number of years we have been so very grateful to Welsh & Katz for consistently providing the board of directors a place to hold their monthly meetings. Welsh & Katz have gone above and beyond the call of duty to not only host the meetings but also feed the board of directors!! In addition to providing space for the Board of Directors meetings, they have been very gracious to offer conference rooms for a number of other committees, too, on an ad hoc basis! And we don’t want to forget their participation in leadership as well! Michelle Katz, who is our Leadership Development Director, and over the years has been very instrumental in meeting and greeting prospective new members. Others in her firm are also involved in committees, such as Julie Katz, who is the Chair of Internal Communications.
Hearty congratulations to all recipients of the 2007 Chicago Area NAWBO Corporate
Partner of the Year Award.
